An outstanding Elk member, Al Babb, who is a member of the Northern Nevada Harley Owners Group presented a great idea for a Poker Run to raise funds for the Elks National Foundation committee and the St. Jude’s Ranch, the State Major Project. It was a great success with 40 riders traveling about 120 miles and arriving back at the Reno Elks Lodge for a late lunch. Several volunteers were at each checkpoint to give the riders their stamps and have them pick a lucky card. There was a small raffle after the lunch as well. This event was able to raise $2470 which will be split between the two committees. It was a perfect day for a ride and all the participants had a fantastic time. The winner of the prize money was Barbara Hawn, an Elk member, with a winning hand of 3 of a kind!!
